How to Design Your Own Basketball Shoes, From Idea to Finished Pair
To design your own basketball shoes with us, you pick a model, describe your idea in the design box on the product page, and approve a mockup before anything is made. You don't need paint or drawing skills. We print your design across the whole shoe, and if words aren't enough, you can send us a picture of what you have in mind.
Create Your Own Basketball Shoes, Step by Step
Our custom basketball sneakers are ordered on a product page, the same way as a ready-made pair. The difference is a design box and a mockup stage before your pair is made. This is the order it happens in:
- Pick a model. The Jamrock High and the canvas TrenchTown High are high tops, the Rebel Sole is a mid top, and the Jamrock Low and IrieTrod Low are low tops.
- Choose your options: men's or women's sizing, Personalized or Original design, and your size. The Rebel Sole and TrenchTown show men's and women's together on each size, like 8 Men / 9.5 Women.
- Describe your idea in the design box above the Add to cart button: the theme, the colors and any name, number or date. On Jamrock and IrieTrod pairs, you also pick the insole color there.
- Place the order. If you have reference pictures, reply to the email we send after you order and attach them.
- Look over the mockups. We adjust them with you, and nothing is made until you approve the final design.
Once you approve it, your pair takes 5 to 14 business days to make. It then ships with tracking, and US delivery takes 5 to 12 business days after that. Holidays can stretch both steps.
Personalized or Original Design?
Personalized is the simpler option. The design fee for it starts at $35, already included in the price, and it covers your name, number or date, or new colors on one of our existing designs. You get up to 2 rounds of mockups.
Original is for a brand new design built from your own idea. It costs more, and the price on the page updates when you select it. You get up to 4 rounds of mockups. If your idea has detailed artwork or a lot going on, email team@rebelonemart.com first and we'll send a quote.

Custom Shoe Design Ideas
Start with something personal. A jersey number and a nickname is the classic. A date works well too: a graduation year, the year a team won, or a birthday.
Colors carry a lot on their own. You can ask for the colors of your team or your school, or new colors on one of our existing designs if you like the layout but want it in your own shades.
If you can picture it but can't describe it, send a picture. A photo or a rough sketch on paper gives us more to work from than a long description, and the mockup rounds are there to get the rest right.
What We Can't Print
We can't print official logos or trademarked team marks. If your reference picture includes one, we'll create an original look in the same spirit, keeping the colors and the feel of what you sent.
Get Your Size Right Before You Order
Custom pairs can't be returned if you change your mind, so measure first. Each model's size chart lists the insole length in centimeters and inches. Our sneakers come in adult men's and women's US sizes only.
The most accurate way is to take the insole out of a pair of sneakers that fits you well and measure it from heel to toe. If the insole doesn't come out, stand on a sheet of paper with your heel against a wall, mark the tip of your longest toe, and measure that. Use your longer foot, choose the size just above your measurement, and if you're between sizes, go with the larger one.
If a pair still doesn't fit, custom Jamrock High, Jamrock Low and IrieTrod Low pairs come with one free size exchange, one size up or down, if you ask within 7 days of delivery. Rebel Sole and TrenchTown High pairs can't be exchanged for size.
If a pair arrives with a manufacturing defect or a print problem, tell us within 14 days of delivery and we'll fix it free.
Designing Matching Pairs for a Team
Designing for a team or a group works differently. Those orders go through our Team & Bulk Orders page, with no minimum, mixed sizes, one design fee for the whole order and a lower price per pair from 6 pairs. Our guide to basketball team gifts walks through a team order from start to finish.
What Comes With Your Pair
Jamrock and IrieTrod pairs, custom ones included, come with 2 pairs of laces and a zip-top shoe storage bag as free extras, while supplies last. A few designs get a colored insole in place of the second pair of laces. Rebel Sole and TrenchTown High pairs come with one pair of laces in a regular shoe box.

Can I design my own shoes if I can't draw?
Yes. Describe the idea in the design box, or send a picture by replying to your order email. We turn it into a mockup and adjust it with you.
Can I design my own sneakers on a different model?
Yes. Any other model in our store can be made custom through a separate listing, and we confirm the size for that model during the mockups.
How many mockup rounds do I get?
Up to 2 with a personalized design and up to 4 with an original design.
How long does a custom pair take?
After you approve the mockup, it takes 5 to 14 business days to make, and US delivery takes 5 to 12 business days after it ships.
Can you put a team logo on my shoes?
